Pulitzer's rigged? Argument seems very thin

It seems to be quite a stretch, but the North County Gazette says the Pulitzer Prizes must be rigged -- how else would The Post-Star win?

The Gazette points out that Joyce Dehli, Lee's vice president for news, sits on the Pulitzer Prize board and that Ken Tingley, editor of The Post-Star, was a Pulitzer prize judge. Neither were involved in judging categories in which Lee newspapers were finalists. Another part of the Gazette's argument revolves around Lee's financially unstable status -- which is true of nearly any newspaper chain right now.

The Gazette doesn't look into the history of Lee and the Pulitzer Prizes: I looked through the winners from 1985 to 2009, and The Post-Star is the only Lee paper that I saw. Is this the first paper to win a Pulitzer Prize under Lee's ownership?

The Post-Star absolutely sucks. Pulitzer quality? Hardly. And considering your associated with Lee, you're hardly objective. You're discounted.

The only thing that should be investigated is this woman's sanity. Look at her website and see that everything is a "conspiracy".

Lee Enterprises never earned a Pulitzer -- they had to buy the Post-Dispatch to get one.

Looks like the NCG site is down. Also a conspiracy?

The website isn't down. Appparently it's you. You're one of the prime reasons that the Communications Decency Act and Internet Stalking Law need to be amended. So now you're attacking the writer. Par for Lee Enterprises

well well well. Typical Lee Enterprises. Just like The Post-Star, if they don't like the posts, they delete them. One sided First Amendment rights. Delete all the comments, wouldn't hurt my feelings. this thing is typically Lee slanted. The Post Star did not earn that Pulitzer and never had a Pulitzer till they got Tingley as one of the judges and bought Pulitzer Inc.

The days of anonymous postings on the Internet are getting closer to extinction. If you've got something to say and don't have the balls to put your name on it, then don't say it. You allow defamatory attacks on people but heaven forbid they should be identified. Grow up bud
