Fire, furloughs at the Times in Indiana

A fire broke out at The Times of Northwest Indiana on Friday -- the same day employees found out they must take 4-day furloughs by May 9.

Fourteen fire departments responded to the fire; one firefighter was injured.

That's funny. Is there a particular reason why the editor of this blog didn't The Times' breaking news story from Friday or the Saturday follow-up?

I quit some time ago. Glad I'm positioned for this recession. Lee has little chance of surviving. I quess we'll have to roll over our JP Morgan to another company. Is anyone considering that possibility?

There is, actually. I got a tip about the fire and furlough announcement. On Sunday, a Google news search for "Times" and "fire" and "pressroom" turned up the Chicago Tribune link and a couple of others, but nothing from The Times. When I hunted through The Times site, I didn't see a story either. So I linked to the Tribune.

Links are always welcome and can be submitted as comments or e-mailed to lee.ent.watch@gmail.com.
