Mid-Valley Group lays off receptionists
The Albany Democrat-Herald and Corvallis Gazette-Times, Lee's Mid-Valley Group in Oregon, are laying off receptionists. The news was delivered the same day as the "good news" on Lee's debt renegotiation.

Laying off receptionists? At my paper they made 'em department heads.
(Glad to see that great debt restructuring prompted a 20 cent stock price bounce, and a week later it's back to where it started.)
Speaking of Department heads, @ our paper Human Resources Director,
on the job for several weeks, promoted the newly hired and demoted or bought off the journeymen staff. Pre-press and Press Crew. She later decided that she missed her family back east and resigned. The Paper was never the same, not to mention the lives that she ruined with the nod of the company.
What was her name? Luca Brasi?
