- Longview Daily News: Employees were asked to volunteer for furloughs. If not enough people sign up, they'll consider making them mandatory.

Furlough update

On Friday, it was announced at Suburban Journals, that a mandatory week of furlough is to be taken by March, by all people in managament/supervisor positions.
A friend of mine in the newsroom at the Quad City Times was furloughed for all of last week. Still trying to confirm, but looks like they're rotating that through the entire newsroom. Don't know the extent or if that's all the hours required.
